c6 4x4 e4od

Okay I'm in the middle of a project and i have a few questions? I have an 88 F250 4x4 witha c6 and a good body. And i have an 89 f250 2wd that the body isn't so hot on I'm in the process of doing a swap of motors and trans what does it take to put tha transfer case from the c6 on the e4od or is it even possible? Also i noticed that that the e4od is longer am i going to have to shorten lenghthen the drive shafts?

The E4 is about 4-6 inches longer. But thats not what i'm as concerned about the big thing is what does it take to hook the tranfer case to the e4

Basically, the output shaft for a 4x4 trans is different (much shorter). So to use that E4OD in the 4x4 truck you would need to disassemble the trans, install a shorter output shaft, and get the right T-case to trans adaptor for your setup.

If you REALLY want to use an E4OD, I suggest finding someone that wants to trade for the trans you have now. Swapping the output shafts can be done, but it is a LOT of work to get the trans apart and back together (and still working). *I've only done the job on a Ch*vy trans, the E4OD may not be the same*.
