Callipers?

I hear a rubbing noise from I think the drivers side tire . When i apply a small amount of brake pressure it goes away . When I brake my truck feels like its going over a ton of little bumps .

I just replaced all back brakes .

Any way to trouble shoot this further , or just buy new calipers?

Re: Callipers?

Sounds like your experiencing brake chatter which is usually caused by the front rotors having checks or hardspots. It can also be caused by thin pads or rotors that are due for a turning.

The rubbing noise could be a caliper hanging up or not centering it's self over the rotor.

Pull the tire and look at the pads - If they are worn more inside or out then your caliper is not sliding properly over the rotor or the pistons are hanging up and letting the pad continue to drag after you release the brake pedal.

Re: Callipers?

We assume from your post that your certain the noise and vibration are from the front brakes.
