Can i use a fuel sender out of a gasser???

i want to replace the fuel sender in my front tank, my 2 local parts stores can only get senders for the gas engines. i assume this is because the diesel has a fuel mixer on it

i would like to use the gasser sender to get rid of this mixing chamber, because the manual says it may let air into the system if the fuel gets below 1/4.

and i don't believe the mixer does crap to warm the fuel. the warm fuel from the I-pump travles through 8 feet of uninsulated metal tube to the tank(and through the front/rear tank valve)then it mixes with cold fuel and runs another 8 feet up to the lift pump [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif[/img] with the outside temp being below 0 i think the fuel would be just as cold by the time it reaches the lift pump

so can i use the gasser pickup/sender? or does the mixer actually work?

Sorry but you have the system operation incorrect ...........No mixers or heater in the tank. Just pickup/return lines and fuel level sender. The fuel heater is in the filter header.

i know there is no heater in the tank, but i thought they had a chamber where the returning fuel(from the I-pump) would mix with the incoming fuel, this is the setup the powerstroke has and it causes alot of air to enter the fuel system

after looking at the pix i guess the thing i was referring to was the fuel pick-up's bypass valve
