CDR valve

Does anybody have a part number or a source for a CDR valve. Ford says it is out of production, and they no longer stock it. Thanks

What is a CDR valve and what does it do? Do I have one on my 88 E350 7.3?

Re: CDR valve

It's like a large PCV valve located behind the intake which ducts internal engine gasses to the intake for burning.

Visit my gallery I think there is a pic there still, do a search of my posts for CDR and there is lots of info.

Nwbie gotta hone your skills on the search feature....

Re: CDR valve

I actually did do a search but did not find what CDR stands for. Besides, the 7.3 NA forum has so little traffic (compared to the Power Stroke forum) I thought I'd post more questions to re-invigorate it.

Re: CDR valve

It's not discontinued. It's just that Ford does not call it a "CDR". They call it some sort of adaptor.

It's an International part, just buy it there. The Ford part is just reboxed.

Re: CDR valve

Thanks for the part numbers, I will try IH.
Can the CDR be eliminated?
I have come across another issue. Can 1990 IDI n/a heads be used on a 1994 IDI turbo engine? Ford is telling me no, but I do not trust all that Ford tells me. Thanks again.

Re: CDR valve

The turbo heads have inconel exhaust valves. The non turbo are just ss alloy, I put new turbo valves in mine but have seen many non that ran for a long time, heat is the culprit.

Re: CDR valve

So if I install the inconel exh valves in the IDI n/a heads they will work just fine.
