Re: CDR Valve

I got mine from an IHC parts dealer using #1805319C1. CDNARSGUY has a diagram and some instructions in his gallery. Check it out, it helped me.

Re: CDR Valve

Sorry to hi-jack your thread Turbo, I need to replace mine as well. I called my local Ford stealership today they said "I never heard of that. Maybe you should call International." So I called the local Int. dealer and they said they can't find a number and to call Ford! I know I've seen a post on here a while back but I can't find it either. Are they (cdr's) all the same on the 7.3's? If so I will use the part number provided in this thread.

Re: CDR Valve

I am looking at my new one from Ford right now. E3TZ-6A665-A The reason the people looked at you like you were drunk is because they don't deal with diesels much. The mainly auto related ford dealer in Oklahoma City didn't believe me until I showed him the CDR on the truck. What I didn't know was that it was relocated when the PO installed the ATS turbo kit. It originally was under and infront of where the air goes into the intake manifold. The original air cleaner hide most of it from view. I believe if your guy looked at the emissions page he would have found it.

ATS told you to punch a hole in your valve cover and gave you a tube to attach to your CDR Valve Assembly. Another member of this forum, I believe, actually purchased a new valve cover when he dumped the CDR for a road draft. I think eventually I will go the road draft tube also. The better solution would have been for ATS to make a metal tube that would have fit in the original hole in the intake manifold that then ran towards the relocated CDR valve and then was attached by a short piece of hose.

AFter I install it I will let you know if my oil mess kinda settles down a bit. Right now it is not pretty.

Re: CDR Valve

Thanks guys for the part numbers. I will call both dealerships in the morning to see who has the better price. Bob, did your new CDR come with the rubber grommets for the valley pan and intake or are they sold seperately?

Re: CDR Valve

You need to give them the part number too. Yes it should be undewr emisson controls, taht's what it does. Ford nomenclature calls this thing a "crankcase ventilation adpater(from Agenem)" not a CDR valve.

Re: CDR Valve

ATS uses the hole in the intake manifold (where the CDR used to be) to drain the turbo oil back to the engine. Hypermax is the same way.

Re: CDR Valve

I could also just use a "breather" correct? Don't really need to run anything back to the intake if I don't want?

Re: CDR Valve

Yea, I found out the hard way that the dealer parts guy has no idea what the CDR is. Took about 10 minutes looking at various diagrams on the computer to find the part.

Mine looked to be original with 245K on it. The valve and the intake were pretty oiled up.

Re: CDR Valve

No grommets came with the valve. Also, don't be surprised if you cannot get the grommet. I tried to order one, my Ford guy said it was no longer available, and the tube was discontinued also.

Let us know what you find out.
