Hi guys,
I'm about 65 miles away from my truck & manuals. it appears that the driver's side motor mount is broken, I followed advice from awhile ago & finally got somebody to look at motor in gear while I gave it some throttle & the driver's side appeared to raise . So does someone know of a 'safe' point to jack on the engine to lift it enough to replace both motor mounts; or do I need to lift the motor with a cherry picker/engine hoist and do I need to loosen the E40D trans mounts to accomplish this.
I have a very short time to accomplish this this weekend, as my wife is still in the hospital parts will arrive probably today I won't be able to pick them up until Saturday morning.
Thanks, jerry

I have sent an email with info......re lifting engine for pan removal, this would enable your mount removal too I think.
Any one with first hand knowledge of how too, please post it for Jerry ASAP

I did mine with a jack, I placed a 2X4 on the pan lip and lifted it one side at a time I was not comfortable just pressing on the pan. The turbo side was tight, Had to push the turbo hard against the firewall, bit I did get it.
Good luck.

Thanks everyone for your responses, I think I will try the jack & 2x4 method on each side of the oil pan. Hopefully that will git'r'done in short order without too much brain damage.
Doing it that way how long did it take you? (dsblack)

About 4 hr if I remember right, Your's is NA so it may go quicker. I had a fight on the turbo side beacause the engine did not go as high.
Should no be too bad.
Good luck, and be careful
