a couple weeks ago I made a trip to Georgia and hauled backed 4 seadoo's ,about half way back the od light started flashing and lasted for a couple days and tranny shifted fine again haled a few loads of scrap with no problems but the last load I went on the interstate with a empty trailer and the od started flashing again
Here are the codes I got
23
14
62
68
Is there a quick fix for these or can somebody tell me what I need to fix them ?
I just picked up a 1990 with a 7.3 for parts and its codes are
23
67
is there anything i can use of this truck to fix my other one?
Also on the 90 parts truck the tranny has no reverse (it trys if you stand on the throttle)Is there any kind of quick fix or is it rebiuldable or trash?
Emailing the codes........ check them out and get back to us.

I had these codes after my trans rebuild last month. If I'm not mistaken, the 23 is TP Sensor, and 67 was PNP Safety switch. I replaced both items and still had the codes. I found the adjustment procedures for both on this forum and made the adjustments. The PNP sw error went away, but I still get the 23. Today I realized that the OD light only flashed during decel, throttle at idle. I could increase throttle slightly and the flashing stopped. I believe that either the voltage meter I used could be slightly out of calibration, or there's a small voltage drop in the wires. Tomorrow, I'm going to adjust the idle voltage from 1.1vdc to 1.2 vdc and see if the error goes away.
Hope this helps.

68 is the big trouble and will trip the others. Overheating. 62 is slip. Examine the fluid. Hopefully it's not burn't. Unless the fluid sensor is bad, fluid temps hit 280+ degrees. If caught in time, you need a new bigger tranny cooler and a check for clogs.
The other truck's codes are related to the MLPS. Sensor on shift lever. You really need to tear them down to see if they are rebuildable. No R could be just seals or pressure loss from any source.

A dead tach sender should/would send the automatic trans into a "failure management mode" (limp mode) with harsh engagements and firm shift feel and an abnormal shift schedule. It has no effect on a manual trans only the Tach readings.
Check the wires where they exit the big nut on the oil filler housing , known to short out due to bare wire.....
Replace the tach sender on the oil fill housing a big 1" nut with 2 wires. Ford only part Engine RPM sensor E5TZ-17B384-A about $50. You can remove and clean it but usually changed later too.
You can test it too, hold it in the air away from ferrous metal, using an ohm meter lead on each wire you need DC resistance between 2000-3000 ohms.
