cold start solenoid spring mounting

Does anyone have a photo of this? I'm putting on a new injection pump and the way the spring is currently mounted doesn't look right to me.

Spring goes from the ball/socket where cable attaches to the lower part of the Fast idle bracket where the cutout is...

How many springs are supposed to be on these things?
Mine has 2 together and it's stiff as all get out, but if I take one off, it won't return to idle. I've always wondered if that is just something that was thrown on there at some time in the past.

Re: cold start solenoid spring mounting

RLDSL,

Check your accelrator cable up above the "go pedal" inside the cab. Mine was all frayed on and not letting it return without a garage door sprint on the pump either. It was down to the last 2 strands of the cable. I will post a pic sometime. It is hillarious.

Two springs of the same size/tension that attach in the same place? Mine only has one.

Re: cold start solenoid spring mounting

I bet you have a bind somewhere in the "go pedal" cable that triggered the need for the "mod" of the additional spring.
