Think I have big trouble. 92 F350 7.3 IDI W/ Banks Sidewinder turbo.
Problem: Went to start it to take off trailer, no start -- Thought air in system -- tried to start by jumping starter relay while bleeding fuel filter - no air - fuel only out -- turbo to exhaust pipe not tight-- Green coolant coming out the turbo exhaust -- how can that be -- seller said engine had a blown head gasket --engine turns over good no hydrolock indication -- radiator way down on coolant -- oil pan overfilled by at least 4 Qts. -- drained out about a Qt. of water rest was oil/tar. How can coolant come out the turbo exhaust-- is there coolnt circulated thru the turbo to keep them cool ?

No, but often times with a headgasket leak it's common for the coolant to get into the combustion chamber then get forced out the exhaust valves then of course out the tailpipe, and if turboed it has to go through the exhaust side of the turbo first. Hope that's what it is rather than cylinder wall erosion.
On Edit: You could get it in the exhaust system the same way with cyl. wall erosion too, of course.
Could also be the valley pan gasket and coolant plugs in the head..... (93) use frost plug style. Did the PO have it apart..... may have reused the valley pan.

Pete: Got your Email , answered by return. Don't know what PO did. Bought truck on Ebay from dealer. Check it out. Hope it's not cavitation . Soon will find out if it ever stops snowing, Been below freezing mostly past 2 weeks. Nice clean truck maybe. Click pic or ebay
Made in Canada EH!..... iffn you have coolant in the oil I would advise jumping on the cleaning of the engine ASAP...... that stuff will do a nasty to the bearings etc.

Thanks again guys. Not going to start it, just crank up the front of trailer and let er roll off. Some real nasty thick stuff like tar and water came out when I drained the oil pan down to the proper level . Gonna drain it all out and refill with fresh oil mixed with some diesel fuel to thin it, not gonna start it , just crank it over a lot then drain it again . On second thought, gonna see if there is anything to mix in on the market that would clean the guts in place of diesel fuel. Your thought's.

I wouldn't. You break all that crap loose and you're asking for sticking lifters, etc. If it was mine, I'd just tear it down and clean it up then, sounds like you're going to have to tear it down anyway. If it's a good clean truck that you want to keep, as long as you're into it that deep, if you do a complete overhaul then you know you have a reliable engine for many years.
normally I'd say flush it, but at the rate that thing is passing coolant, I wouldn't risk running it that long. Not even just cranking it . All it takes is for a hole to get a bunch of coolant in it and you've got a bent rod or worse .
