Talk about beating a dead horse - going to bring up the breather topic yet again! I haven't been on here in a while, and it's a pain to search the archives now, so sorry if this has been discussed.
I have been running a road draft tube on my truck for about a year now. I made a housing that bolts to the same spot as the Banks adapter and ran a 1 1/4" hose up as high as I could off the front of the engine then back down so that is just a little lower than the twin I beams. My housing has a slightly tortuous path that would self drain back into the engine, however I still get a lot of oil slobbering from the end of the RDT. What's even worse is the nauseating smell that you get when you stop for a traffic light and the engine is fully up to temperature.
The VW TDI guys are using a Mann filter product now that can be configured for either open (rdt style) or closed (returns gasses to intake). The unit is supposed to be good for up to over 400hp. I'm thinking of giving it a try and running it closed. It has in inlet from your breather, an oil return line, and an outlet.
Has anyone tried one of these yet?
