Crankin' for 20 seconds is too long..caution graphic pictures

I suppose I should have tried to replace the IP and injectors sooner...before this happened. I was warned, and kept the cranking to 20 seconds or less....but after 3 weeks of this...the starter gave up the ghost and left me stuck at the parking lot of Canadian Tire. Not a bad spot to get stuck..except it was starting to rain and I had furniture in the box. They let me park in the shop overnight and pushed out the truck this morning. Pretty nice guys. Oh well. 1/2 hour drive home with a friend and then back to town today to get rebuilt starter from the local wrecker. Took about 1.5 hours to re and re and she is back up and running. IP and injectors tomorrow.

Have alook at the pics in my gallery.

Cheers

Paul

Geeez, ya sound like my ex wife.

Well, I have other hobbies that take up the shop space. It sure would be nice to work on the truck in the shop with the wood stove going and a full beer fridge. Maybe next house...

Just glad to still have my truck at this point.

Cheers

Wow! It's like a whole new engine. I put in the newly rebuilt starter and does it ever spin over fast now. I haven't had a problem with the IP yet since I changed the starter. I am still going to put in the new one and 8 injectors but there must have been something wrong with the other starter for a long time as it never did spin this fast.

Just need a nice day to change the IP and I'll be all set....for the next problem.

Cheers

Keep an eye on you batteries ,that looks like low voltage damage to me. Welds the brush to the armature then jerks out the segment.
