OK now that Stanadyne is probably the best additive to use just where is this stuff found? Don't know what I am looking for, Auto Zone? Is it in bottles, gallons etc
It isnt readily available just anywhere. Napa may carry it or diesel truck parts store may carry it or Diesel turbo injection shops might have it.....I usually get and use Power Source because I can find it just about anywhere. Lot of guys use it as well as I do. I get the big bottle and it usually good for a few tank full....

Planned upgrades are a new and better turbo and larger exhaust pipes than the 21/2s that are already under the rig/ would like a 6 spd tranny but dont know if that is a feasable or smart investment yet.

I have to mail order mine from DIS. You might check a truck stop if you have one close to you, they might have it but it will probably be in big bottles, not 8 oz ones. Couple of the sponsors of this sight carry it. You might also call a couple of the big truck places too, they might have it.

Actually Stanadyne's Performance Formula is not that hard to find. Call Stanadyne Corporation @ (860) 525-0821 and ask who the distributors are in your area.
See: http://www.stanadyne.com/new/ppt/showfile.asp?id=1295
One easy source to call is DIS (Diesel Injection Service) @ (800) 658-9355. They sell pint bottles of Stanadyne Performance Formula for $5.20, a case of 12 pints for $55.20, ½ gallon for $17.35, or a case of 6 ½ gallon bottles for $95.94
See: http://www.dieselpage.com/additive.htm
About 5 years ago I bought a 5 gallon pail of Stanadyne Performance Formula and I just refill my old empty pint bottles and keep a couple in my trucks center console.
You could look in the phone book under diesel repair shops advertising Stanadyne or go to Stanadyne.com and find a dealer near you.

Is the performance additive all that is needed in a warm climate or should the other lubricity formula be used?
Thanks,
