Sorry to hear about your brother, but the ATS crap is no new news. After everyone recomended to you and all you read about how good BTS is you still went with ATS .... deal or no deal . I hope you have better luck with yours!!!

As for who to talk to ... call Brian @ BTS he can fix all your brothers ATS problems!!!

BTS FTW

Well... This is all after the fact but..... I bought a BTS trans and installed it myself. The torque converter has 150 square inches of friction material and requires a differant flexplate because its so big.. The stock torque converter has 25 square inches of friction material. Thats enough for me and my horse power to buy a BTS trans.

Ya'll get to tell me, "I told you so".

I got back from the mideast around 27 Nov. Picked up and drove my truck back to Wa state (thru nasty snow etc...), but noticed the tranny would 'slip' out of gear every once in a while, when traveling across west Wyoming, Utah, and Idaho.

Got into Wa 1500 miles later, and made an appointment at my local garage. Had them do a service on the tranny (after they called ATS to determine the correct fluids etc ...). They pulled the drain plug on the oversize pan and found ..... 2 nuts attached to the magnetic plug along with a LOT of miscellaneous metal crap. Several of the 'shifter bodies' (?) were loose as well. Everything was re-torqued and re-installed by my shop.

Total miles about 4000 since it was changed. 2 fluid changes in that time (one by ATS one by my shop).

ALSO 7 of the pan bolt holes were stripped out and needed to be heli-coiled! I left an irate email with ATS, but as I'm back here in the sandbox (16 Dec) and I haven't heard from ATS.

DON'T GO TO ATS FOR YOUR TRANNIES!

I'm sure sorry for all your problems.... This is what ATS should be telling you. Then they should be giving you your money back or another trans. I personally would drive it to BTS and have their trans installed. Then take the ATS pos back to ATS and get your money back. BTS will takeany core so it doesn't have to be out of your truck. How ATS can stay in business acting like this to the customer base that keeps the doors open is way beyond me.... Sounds like your misfortunes have taught anybody that can read this to do business elsewhere. A bad rep goes a long way on the internet.

ATS= Another Tranny Sucker. Very unfortunate, but true. Those three, and four page ads in Diesel Power Magazine sure look good. Clint, and the boys sure continue to empty wallets. Now, you have guys like BTS, and John Woods, that treat their customers well, and build a heck of a tranny, at a fair price. It does not matter what site you visit, the opinions of BTS, and JW, are excellent. Hopefully, you can get your money back. I think you know what to do to solve your tranny issues.
