I may have a line on an intercooler that was a take off following an aftermarket install. The take off is from an almost new 6.0L F250.
Does anybody out there know if the 6.0L intercooler will fit in place on a '93? I don't want to commit until I know if it will fit. I was told that the distance between the pipes on the 6.0L intercooler is just over 32". I don't mind a little light fabrication, but don't want a HUGE project to get it in place.
Any input would be great.

I see a couple of avenues for possible confirmation that this works:
1. Leaf through the '94-'97 powerstroke forum here, and see if anyone there has added the 6.0 intercooler. Then, find a '95-'97 truck with a powerstroke, pop the hood, and compare your radiator/AC condenser/trans cooler/etc locations. If the same, then you can probably make it work.
2. Obtain detailed measurements from the seller (overall length, height, thickness, location of inlet/outlet, inlet/outlet length, bracket locations, etc) and see if there's room. On my '89, I had to shim the grille out ~1" in order to clear my hypermax intercooler. Not noticeable to the average joe.
Also, someone might sell prefabbed intercooler pipes for use with the 7.3 or 6.0 superduty intercooler in the '94-'97 trucks - these may work with modification in your application. Snoop around the early powerstroke forums again to determine this.

Hypermax Turbo, Big Exhaust (edit) T-boned 1/02, totaled 3/02, parked 3/02, stripped of turbo 12/04, will be retitled and sold.
(edit) 1986 F-250 XC 4x4 4-sp 3.55s 230k Hypermax Turbo, Intercooler, Big exhaust - bought 2/02, run hard, 12/04 stripped of intercooler, will be sold with just turbo. Best vehicle I've owned.
(edit) 1989 F-350 cc 4x4 200k, Custom (not even an XL), only luxury item is cruise control. Receipient of turbo from '88 and intercooler from '86 in 12/04. 5-inch exhaust added 1/05. USGear overdrive waiting in the wings.
I have not kept up on what's new but there are many folks that have installed the 99PSD intercoolers into their 90-94 pickups. If the 6.0 is the same size then you should not have any issues finding the install intructions on this site.
I used a 99 psd intercooler in my 94 f-150 lightning, it fit in their pretty nice. Im going to also be useing a 6.0 intercooler when I do my intercooler install. Im almost positive it will fit, and if it wont, I will make it!

I took your advice and checked out the early powerstroke forums.
There are a number of guys that have installed the 6.0 factory intercoolers into their trucks. They said that it is a direct fit, with the only difference being that the 6.0L intercooler has a little bit more capacity.
There appears to be a company that makes an install kit that includes the needed pipes, hoses, and clamps to install an intercooler onto an early powerstroke. The difference, other than capacity, between the SD 7.3 intercooler and the 6.0 intercooler is that the 6.0 uses a 3.25" outlet, while the 7.3 uses a 3" outlet. There were a number of pics from different members that showed there install.
I might look at doing this. My only wonder now would be if it will increase turbo lag, and by how much. I would like the lower intake air temperature.
Those of you with intercoolers, did the intercooler increase the turbo lag, and did it lower egt's?
