Do I need a new dana 50?

The dana 50 in the front of my 94 F250 is in bad shape, of the 4 small gears in the center one was in two peices and the other trhree were kinda chewed up. The tip of the pinion is also ground away. Is this diff worth fixing or would new gears be too expensive? Could I get away with just replacing the one broken spider gear?(I don't do serious off roading). The other three small gears still mesh but have nics and dings and the pinion still meshes with the ring, the center shaft that holds the spider gears is kinda chewed up as well.

Any advice would be appreciated or if someone knows where a cheap dana 50 or cheap dana 50 parts are.

I was so close to finishing the project and getting it on the road

Thanks,

-Rob

I think repairing it would be way more $$$ than replacing it. I have not heard of or seen one in that condition on TDS or at the shop.

Re: Do I need a new dana 50?

I figured it would be cheaper to get a new one. I don't know what the previous owner did to this truck but it wasn't too good for it. If anyone has a Dana 50 lying around possibly left over from a Dana 60 swap please let me know. In the meantime I'll start hitting the junk yards.

Thanks for the imput,

-Rob
