I have a bunch of off road lights on my truck (about 11) and want to put on a second alternator. Is there someplace that makes an adapter to put 2 alternators on a 7.3 IDI or is it better to just go with a bigger one? If you think just one big one is better, what brand and how big?

well do you have ac? if not its simple. you can buy a new double pully for the alternator too. being a diesel it should have 2 batteries and a big alternator already. the double pully thing you need to build a mounting bracket for ive seen it and i guess it works ok but if you remove the ac compressor and add it there its ok or if you can find a place to mount it then just get a larger belt with the recomended play in it

If you install the ambulance alternator (leece neville, I think - but spelled wrong) that should give you PLENTY of power. Its physically larger and I think you have to grind on your current bracket some to make it fit, but its gotta be easier than trying to rig up two alternators.
