OK, I need to replace my E4OD in my 94 F350 4x4. I see lots of trannys for sale. Question is, what is the difference between a 2WD and a 4WD tranny? Case, guts? What???? [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif[/img] Thanks in advance.

The difference between a 4x2 and a 4x4 is the output shaft, extension housing, pan, and filter.

If you can, find one out of a 96 or 97. There were many updates from the time yours was built. Plus the later years were designed for more power and should live a happy life behind your idi.

When buying a rebuilt, make sure all of the updates were done to it.
