e4od-no movment in drive range

i have and 89 F350 4x4 7.3l w/ e4od.
2 weeks ago i was driving on a hot day and started to pore atf out the front seal. i had overheated it a few monthes back and did the same thing. but now the seal was toast. so i droped the tranz and found out i had a bad torque converter. i replaced that as well as the front seal, and put a minor shift kit in, acualator springs and some other little thing. later i found out the same kit had been put in already. i had the pump apart and did mod's to it aswell. but i never got too deep into the tranz, only pump and valve body.
i got ever thing bolted back up, but now when i put it into a drive gear i get nothing. i can freely spin the rear tires when i any gear but park. another wierd thing when i start the truck in netral, most of the time the rear tires spin like it is in drive. i can then stop it with my hand; some times they will start to spin agin same times they wont. i also reallined the mpls.
i have checked for proper level of fluid an it is a bit high. checked the linkage, checked for a pluged oil fliter( just got a new one). checked for loose or damaged valve body. also looked for sticky valves.
the only things now that i can think of are the oil pump has a stuck presher regulator, and i have not checked the presher level.
thx cherry

well the truck is up on jack stand so "I get nothing" means when i put it in rev, drive, 2, 1 i get no movment of the rear tires. no the shifter cable on the side was not touched during the uninstall or install. but i did make sure that when its in park, its in park on the trans, rev=rev, drive=drive.

Did you ensure the seal on the old filter neck was removed, before installing the new filter and seal...... Sounds like a possible fluid pickup problem....

yes old seal is out and its pumping fluid into my t/c, and cooler but i think it is just not doing it at a fast enough rate. e.i. low line pressure

Is the clutch against the flywheel on the engine or slipping? Is there blockage in the cooler lines?

Well I really don't know how an auto connects to the engine due to my limited knowledge. But I understand the manuals. So thats why I said clutch.

Do you have the right torque converter.I had one for a c4 and it spun the trans pump but not the drive spline.

Instead of a flywheel we slushbox guys get a flexplate, bolts directly to the engine crankshaft. On the transmission side instead of the clutch we have a torque converter, slides directly on the transmission input shafts. Unlike a bolt-action, however, the converter does get bolted to the flexplate, so while a bolt-action has the slip going on between the flywheel and the clutch a slushbox uses an internal slip inside the converter. Make any sense?
