I recently installed a ISSPRO trans temp gauge. On a trip to San Diego the trans temp would run at ~190 degrees on the freeway. Around town it stays around 160-170. Is the 190 highway temp normal? There was no weight in truck. I'm really concerned about these temps. because I'm gonna be towing a 10k 5er to Texas/Okla next month if I can get my Autolite together. Am I gonna have to spring for a trans cooler fan? The lines go thru the bottom of rad then to an aftermarket trans cooler rated for 24k. Do I need more coolers? Travis, the temp sender is in the port on drivers side just in front of MLPS. The fluid isn't old, just from Dec. 2004 rebuild. Baja
I just did a complete flush & fill today. Noticed that on the way home my digital gauge was reading 165 F. It was higher this morning on the way to the tranny shop.
