electrical connection on top of fuel filter mount

1990 F250 7.3

The connection on the top of the fuel filter mount, (I believe it is the "Water in fuel" sensor, not sure) is seeping fuel. I tried to disconnect it and it would not come off, I even chipped the edge of the connector trying to remove it. Should this connector be able to be removed? Any suggestions on repairing or replacing the connection. In the past I have had problems with air in the fuel system. I think this is my problem.

Any tricks to removing the connector?

Thanks

It's the worthless fuel filter heater that connects to the top of the filter head. I think there is an O-ring you can replace but it's been a long time since I did it. The heater doesn't really do much and it is very expensive to replace.
To get the part off you'll need to loosen the threaded center that the fuel filter screws onto. It's easy to get to.

The black connector on the top is the heater connector, on the side you have the Plugged filter sensor........... the WIF sensor is in the base assy of the filter.

Thanks it was the o-ring that was leaking. I replaced it everything is fine. The connector was just stuck on there after twisting and prying it came off.

Thanks for the info..
