External IP adjustments - what for?

Hi all,
I've always wondered what those three external adjustment screws on the IP are for? (Lately I heard the the upper one is called the "torque adjustment", because it alters the engine torque at high loads/when flooring it.)
My newly rebuilt IP has lots of power in the first half range of pedal movement, but not much happens when pushing the pedal further, just more hard "diesel roaring", very good mileage and emission numbers though... wonder if some of the external adjustments could give some more pedal response "up there", impossible to adjust the internal thingy in a van.

I believe the safest route for you would be to contact Ken at DPS. He may even stop by and answer your question, I have seen horror stories he wrote about guys doing adjustments at the pulls and destroying a new IP.
