i wanna run a different air intake with a cone filter on my 94 turbo IDI, anyone got any homebrew pictures? would a 3 inch pipe be ok? also best MPG i've gotten was 16 on the highway, hows that sound?
my truck is 4wd and towing a trailer at 70 or so i'm runnin about 2500 rpms and thinkin on upping my tire size to bring this down, it's got 4:10's, would that be a good idea? to step up to a 33 to bring my rpm's down.
and my glow plug relay on the engine takes a long time to do all it's clicking, could it be time for a new one or maybe something else.
and last sorry to be a pain

2500 rpm @ 70 is pretty normal, that's what my IDI with 4.10s runs. Mr. Roboto is right, our stock tires (235/85) are about 32.78 in, so 33s won't do much good. As far as your glow plug cycle, how long does the WTS light stay on? If it's the normal 15 or so seconds cold, you'll be alright. The plugs cycle for about 2 mins usually, but you can start her when the light goes out. Sorry, I can't be any help on the intake...

The stock 235/85R16 is about the same height as a 33" tire.

Actually a 235/85/16 is 31.7" tall and 9.3" wide, with a 7.9" sidewall. The 285/75/16's I have on my 02, are 32.8", 11.2", and 8.4" for the same measurements.
Sorry to all the loyal 7.3 guys, but I traded my '91 7.3 in on a 2002 F250 Ex cab V10 4x4. SCT Xcalibrator2 with tunes by Powerplay Performance. 285/75/16 Toyo M/T's. Took a long time to get used to the ping-pop of a cooling catalytic converter...LOL.
'85 Bronco swapped up to a 302 4bbl from the 300 I6, NP435 4spd, NP208, 32x11.50x15 Radial RVT's, Soon to be 6.9 turbo powered.
86 F350 Cab&Chassis with a dump bed. 2wd 6.9 and 4 spd tranny. No mods to engine.
3 inch exhuast is a little small on a turbo.....4-5 would be better with no muffler. If you really need a muffler get a grain truck muffler......the size you need.
When the WTS light goes out... you should start the engine. The clicking will continue after the start with engine running to clear up any possible smoke.
