Fill pluged in rear tank??

My f350 dually s rear tank has some type of obstruction in it. When I go to fill it will not allow me to pump any fuel. The front is fine. Is there something in the unit that collapses or are they normally this hard to fill. I can not get a 1/2 inch line down it.

Re: Fill pluged in rear tank??

One one of my vans there was an anti-syphon device, basically a metal flapper right under the fill tube inside the tank. On my van this flapper got stuck up against the fill tube, and blocked the flow.

The flapper got stuck after I tried to syphon the gas out prior to dropping the tank.

Maybe someone tried to syphon out of the tank and did the same thing.

Re: Fill pluged in rear tank??

On my tank there is an internal tube to direct the fuel to the tank and allow the air expelled to find it's way out..... if the internal pipe is floating around in the filler pipe it could be part of the problem. If your trying to fill with a OTR truck pump they will dispense too fast for our setup..... some members have done tank mods to eliminate this problem. Do a search for tank harpooning.
