found another idi

ok mama said she was thinking about getting a loan and selling her car and gving me the dough from thet to buy a new car she has a 97 ford taurus so im thinknig 5,000 for that.the truck i found is a 1992 7.3 idi. its in great shape body is perfect and interior is even nicer!. although it had a problem starting . didnt see any leaks on the return lines so i assume glow plugs. looks like original injectors so its probibly original pump. now heres what i would do, pull the new starter off of mty current rig and put it on there along with the new glow plugs and relay, and new injectoion pump, and also my new batteries. swap everything over and sell my rig with the new rigs stuff. becuase i put alot of money into my current rig and wouldnt ever get it out of it. so put the new stuff on the new truck and roll on. Oh yea the truck for sale has 185,000 mile, but they want 8500 for it finace what should i walk in there with cash in had? oh yea and i wanna put my current wheels and tires on the new truck.

Re: found another idi

sounds pricy. Even up here you can get 95+ PSD, 4x4 with under 200K miles for about that price.

Re: found another idi

Paid $7 grand for mine two years ago with 167,000 on the clock. Not in Texas (my home state).

Your price is probably reasonable given the condition of the truck... hard to find one in good shape in and out. Sounds like a good truck.

I'd try to haggle him down to $7000 and negotiate from there, assuming tires are good, brakes are relatively new, and no front end problems.

Re: found another idi

I'll tell you this, when my truck got wrecked one of my estiments was for $5372, that was 90% of what my truck is worth, 93XLT, extened cab, all power, 4X4, 7.3L, 190,000 on the clock, another estiment was for $4876, 80%, so $8500 is about 2.5 grand too high for a 92. Go from there......... Jim
