is there an additive to the fuel people should recommend

my stupid engine wont let me rev up to 2 1/2 to 3rpm without gettin whitish blue smoke and then sputtering to stall

Powerservice or Stanadyne lubricity/cleaning conditioners are what we use. Sounds like your governor is shutting down the engine or the advance is sticking........... One other thing may be a bad air leak at high RPM. Check your fuel lift pump pressure at the filter schrader valve.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner 92 7.3L diesel f350

what should my fuel pressure be at the filter schrader valve.

i just changed my fuel filter and i held down the needle on the filter schrader valve to see what happens and some air came out and then the motor started sputtering and died!

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner 92 7.3L diesel f350

I always carry a coupla cans of Sea Foam so that if I have to change my filter I just use the SF to refill the new filter and It will start up instantly. I am using WVO so I need to carry extra filters.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner 92 7.3L diesel f350

Sounds like as stated above. What you need to do is double dose the amount of injector cleaner in the fuel. It wont hurt anything. The pressure the lift upmp puts out will be 5 to 7 lbs at the shrader valve. If your oil level is creating up the lift pump may have a hole in the diaphram and leaking diesel into the oil pan. How many miles are on the injectors and injection upmp? They don't usually last much more than about 100,000 to 150,000 miles at best.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner 92 7.3L diesel f350

Depending on how corroded your injectors are, you may have to go through a couple of tanks of fuel before you notice a difference in performance.

I've had the same experience with diesel kleen as you did.

Re: Fuel Injector Cleaner 92 7.3L diesel f350

well i believe my problem is my fuel pressure regulator

its on the line before the fuel filter

i blew it out and the truck ran fine for a couple days

but today it started running out of gas again on the hill i climb to my house

so i think it maybe cloged again or going bad or i dont know
