Fuel line/O-ring list needed

Hi all,

Got a question. I've got a pair of '91 Ford E350's that we're going to be running on pure Biodiesel. We've been making BD for about a year running other vehicles and want to get these vans ready for Bio as soon as possible.

I've found some lists for newer Ford engines which list all the O-rings and fuel hose sizes needed. I'll probably just order all of it from McMaster-Carr, and will definitely want Viton. Also, any guidance on where all the O-rings will go will be greatly appreciated. We did this last time for a D*dge truck (it wasn't mine!), and it was a major hassle as leaks happened to find the various O-rings that we missed the first time.

Muchos Thanks in advance
-tony

He's looking for Viton, those are plain rubber.

There's a thread either here or OB that lists the O ring size.

McMaster Carr sells Viton o-rings. These injector caps take a #111 o-ring. 7/16" ID, 5/8" OD, 3/32" cross-section. $6.31 + shipping for a pack of 50.

Re: Fuel line/O-ring list needed

I have two E350's /7.3 's Been running on B100 for about 3 years . The stuff in the kits are about the only fuel part I have not had any leaks . Like today the gaskit/o ring on the line between the filter and the injection pump . When it becomes a problem it is slow so you can see soon enough to fix it before you break down . Except the NAPA lift pumps sure do not like biodiesel

Re: Fuel line/O-ring list needed

Thanks everyone for the replies so far.

OK, so the #111 O-rings from MC. Also, from what I can tell on the engine, I need about 3 ft per van of 1/4" ID hose for the injectors. Any thoughts on what OD I should get with those? MC sells 5/16, 3/8, and 1/2" OD for the 1/4" hose. I think the hose on their had 1/2" OD, so unless anyone has other suggestions I'll stay with that.

Also, I'm estimating I need about 2 ft of 3/8" ID hose down under the driver seat (note, E350 van not a truck). I thought I saw something about 7/16" ID hose, but I'm not seeing it on the engine (or maybe that was the Powerstroke model?).

I remember seeing something about O-rings on the fuel filter. Anyone know those sizes? Any other O-rings around to swap out? I'd like to bang everything out all at once. Note, since I can't even see the top of the engine from under the hood, I'm not going to see leaks until they're significant (and I usually park on gravel). The second van (my buddy's) will be taking lots of long trips, so he's more concerned about getting everything done right.

Many Thanks, and any more works of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
