A lot of the mileage difference is in driving style. My F-250 NA has the pump set at the same specs as my dad's F-350 Turbo, but his gets way worse mileage because we like to drive it like we stole it! If we drive his in the same manner we drive mine, they are actually pretty close when it comes to mileage. But, that's just my experience with them.

I get 15 mpg driving to work and back also. I also have a 5 spd and 4.10 gears.I drive normally, I like to drive 60 to 65 mph daily. I just love driving my truck so I dont get in a hurry to get somewhere. I crank the radio sit back and enjoy the ride....

Planned upgrades are a new and better turbo and larger exhaust pipes than the 21/2s that are already under the rig/ would like a 6 spd tranny but dont know if that is a feasable or smart investment yet.

I went back and looked at my records. I made a special note I was driving 62mph and got 17mpg thats the best my truck has done. The worst I have got is 9.5mpg pulling about 10,000lbs. A combo of the hills and head wind I had a max speed of about 62. I had the truck in 4th and just keep the pedal on the floor for a few hours.
I do have a single cab so my truck is a little bit lighter.

Im a newbie on here and couldnt find a newbie post site so figured id introduce myself in my first post. I have a 91 F350 crewcab dually with 4.10s and a auto tranny. Ok itroduction over now for the post.
I average 11.7-13.4 mpg drivin back and forth to work 70 mile round trip all interstate so im doin 70+. On a recent road trip i noticed that when im running between 70-85mph my milage doesnt change it stays around 11-12 mpg but if I keep it around 68mph ill get about 14-15mpg.
only towed with it once and got a respectable 9mpg.couldnt get over 60mph though was pretty much on the floor and hills would knock me down to about 45mph Best i could figure i was towing about 13000 lbs.
I have a K&N filter on it and I know if I can get more air to it itd do much better. Waitin on another air cleaner assembly to come in so I can cut the fish bowl off the lid among other things
sorry for the long post

best I got, was 20.1mpg on a 279 mile trip, avg speeds of around 65-70, with some in town driving. That was with the 35's on it.
Now with the 285's, the best I've been averaging around 18.5 hwy, and 16 in town. As soon as I hook up the trailer(around 7K or so) I drop to right around 10-11.
00' f-250, AFE stage I, 5" straight pipe, wicked wheel, DP tuners F-6 chip, 35's, 427,000 miles and still going strong..
When I first got my truck it has 4.10 gears and I got 21mpg with the cruise at 55mph, 16mpg at 65 and 13mpg at 75 and the truck empty. I got 17mpg at the same speed with my enclosed (20' box) motorcycle trailer.
I put a 3.55 rear end in it last year. Now I get 17-18mpg at 70mph and 15-16mpg towing at the same speed. Haven't driven it much over the last year and don't have data yet for other speeds. Truck is all stock other than the rear end, a camper shell (high-style) and gauges.
All the mileage figures are from driving I-81 though VA (quite hilly) I suspect I'd get a bit better mileage in areas that were somewhat flat.
