Fuel problem

I changed my fuel/water separator on my 94'. I put clean diesel in the new one and put it on. I went to fire it up and it ran for about 30 sesonds and died. i went back out and pulled the separator off again to make sure it was getting fuel and it was. I tried to start it again and it still wouldn't. Anyone have any suggestions?

Re: Fuel problem

Changing the fuel filter causes an air bubble sometimes even if you fill the fuel filter. Crank on it for 15-20 seconds, if it doesn't start, give it a few minutes of rest and try again, it WILL start.

I added PowerService to my new filter last week, truck started smooth and ran smooth. The time before I did the same thing, but it stalled and then took a bunch of cranking to get it started, rattled like it was coming apart too.

Good luck,

Hugh

Re: Fuel problem

Bleed air from the filter by pressing on the Shrader valve on the fuel filter while someone cranks the engine. It should bubble out some air and then become all fuel coming out. release the pressure on the shrader valve and the truck should run.
