Ford had a problem with dual tanks on their trucks. One tank would run over you had to switch tanks and wait for it to run over then go back. That is a easy fix, they make a checkvalve that goes on the tank & the line goes back on that. You can do it without removing the tank but you need long arm's & skinny hands and can stay in a bind for a while. Given you history you might want to get somebody to do it for you. I just hit 59 and thought I might have the big one before I got them both on :-) I replaced the fuel pump on a 94 f150 a month or so ago and if I had it to do over again I would find a younger fellow that likes the taste of fuel & can hold up, guide the hose & start a bolt at the same time. 30 years ago that was a breeze it's a real job now :-)

PS: I found out the hard way that I had 4 gal. left when it hit empty on the guage.
