The new '94 IDI Turbo I just got has gauge issues. Front one ran out above 1/4. Not sure about the back yet but it seems to be dropping fast. Can one fix these issues? Is the sending unit bad or is the float bent or something? Thanks.

As you probably know the pickup tubes in these rigs tend to get brittle and shatter into a ton of pieces. When this happens the truck will be unable to get fuel below about 1/4 tank. A few guys as well as me have removed the broken pieces and put a rubber fuel line extension to get to the last drop of fuel.
So after typing all that, it may be something else but that is at the top of the list for sure. There are a few write ups on how to do the fix. The hardest part if dealing with the tanks if you drop them to get to the pick up tubes.....

Just switched tanks today to the front one after last weeks fill up.
The gauge went way up past full so the reading is off so I suppose around 1/4 tank it will be empty.

It may not be the pickup lines if you were able to get 16 gallons back in. When mine were bad I could get like 13 or 14 gallons in the tank before it would shut off.
