glow plug relay

i have a 1993 7.3 idi and i replaced the gp harness and controller . wen it was all installed the controller had a non stop clicking wen i turned the key on. so i went on here and found a few things i can check, i checked- every gp with a test light they all lit up, i jumped the gp controller and it cycled an the truck started. theres 12 constant volts to the controller. wen i turned the key to test the other 12v source wen the key is on i have nothing i am lost on what next to do , and it freezing out here in rhode island and i need my truck tomorrow. can anyone help me.

Click on my photos for a picture of the controller/solenoid that has been passed around here and other forums.

The wires that attach on each end of the metal band are important.

Make sure the ground is getting good contact.

Do you have power from the ignition to the small terminal with the red wire when the key is on?

Is that white wire connected to the other small terminal, sometimes it looks kinda yellow?

i just went back outside to look at again. i took 5 of 8 wires off the glow plugs and it makes a normal clicking sound. wen they are all on there it makes a buzzing and clicking sound .

I just went thru the same thing. I believe you may have wired the controller wrong. Make sure the two brown wires (gp) and the green wire from the controller are secured under the folded metal band that goes from the gp relay to the controller. The two red wires go on the small post, closest to the cab, and the white wire the other small post. The yellow wires go the big copper post oposite of the folded metal band. No wires should be connected on top on the folded metal band.
