Anybody out there know of a glue that will work on the interior plastic in our trucks?
I have a mount tab that is broken off of the dash, and I don't want to replace the whole unit. Looking for something that will make the repair and last.
Thanks,
Bill

On small mounting tabs I've used super glue, on larger tabs I've used jb weld or similiar. When I got my truck the panel in the dash with the "wait to start" light, ets. was broken used super glue on that, and the bracket on the passanger side that supports the whole dash was also broken, used jb weld on that. Over three years and still holding.
I have used JB Weld with poor results (usually) and occasionally very good results. I'm sure the error is that I mixed the stuff in cold temperatures so didn't get a good mix.
I've since started using those little tubes of steel-reinforced epoxy that NAPA and other parts stores sell.
You cut off a little piece that's big enough to do the job, roll it between your fingers, and stick it to fill the crack or bond the parts you want to fix. THE STUFF IS AMAZING! All my little tabs where the headlight switch mount assembly screws into the dash were broken, and I kept losing the metal pieces designed to hold the screws. I used this stuff to epoxy them into place... Perfect. The whole area I repaired is one with the rest of the dash now, and seems to hold up to pulling without a hint of things wanting to break.
What is even better is that the stuff is very clean... No muss, no fuss. You don't have to worry about it going where it isn't wanted, or dripping onto other parts, etc.
5 minutes or so of time before you can't mold it to fit what your're working on anymore.
I'll be breaking off the JB Weld from the rest of my dash and replacing it with this stuff, which seems to really stick once it dries and doesn't seem to break.
I do have to repair the tab on the passenger side of the dash that holds it all up, and various other repairs. Have to repair them, as the parts guy at the dealership just laughs when you ask about a number of the interior and trim parts for a '93.
I didn't think it was that old...yet!

Another great " stick " can be had by using 3M weatherstripping adhesive, just follow the directions. Inside or outside works great and bonds to most man made items !!

I build and fly RC airplanes, CA glue will bond any of these parts that need gluing. Go to a hobby shop and get some medium CA, it's only super glue which is what all CA is but, medium CA has gap filling property's, it will need about 2 minutes to set, if you need it to set faster mist some water on the parts to glue together and the bond will be instant.
Don't use too much, just a touch will bond, too much and it won't set right. Use the small amount first and after it sets over night you can add more on top for filling any gaps.
