The chores. A few kegs of very good homebrew (all grain), are sitting and carbonating ... Will be drinkable in 2-4 days, with aging perfect in 2 weeks. I'll be thinking of ya'll.
Now that that's done. I'm thinking of replacing my pumpkin covers. Are there replacement covers for the Fords? I'm not neccessarilly thinking of chromed, but I would like something with a drain plug maybe.
Thoughts or experience (good, bad or ugly), on this? If they're available, then where?
On the brew, well if you're around Graham, WA IM me. Got a BBQ coming up.

If your thinking of an easy way to change fluid, a cover with a plug in it will not allow you to root around in the depression (well) under the gears for bits and pieces........ I prefer removing the cover, use a top grade of sealant $$ and keep the surfaces clean.
Synthetic gear oil and additive.......

you can drill out the bottom of the front diff for a 1`/2 allen socket head drain plug--if can get the search feature to work--someone already wrote it up---and the plug goes flush to bottom of case so no drag on anything---

The original cover plate is subject to damage, either by road "kick-up" or by removing the cover to change fluid.
It is thin metal and can be pierced by a rock or racked by removal.
Some will say get a gasket, and some will say Permatech, but if the cover is twisted, after removal, it won't reseal.
Please don't ask how I know, as this will open a chapter to a boring book.
A new cover is about $30 from Ford, I don't recall where I bought the gasket. Unpainted.
I do recall about $50 for synthetic fluid.
Plan on replacing or repairing bolts or bolt holes, there tend to strip or break all by themselves. Ford has new bolts, very special, you will see once you get them off, repair with helicoils
The Magna-Tech is most studley, but too much money.
