The Grey Beast lives again!!!
After reading several posts about glow plug trouble shooting, I went ahead and changed all eight to Motorcraft (Beru) and what a difference. I had been racking my brains trying to figure out why she was so hard starting. I had replaced the relay (groan), put in a new harness(it needed one anyways) and checked everything else. She just wouldnt start without ether. Now she fires on the second turn. Thanks for all the great info. This site has given me a wealth of info, I couldnt have found anywhere else.
