I Have A 1990 F-250 W/ 7.3 Diesel. Just Recently It Is Hard To Start When Cold. The Wait To Start Light Goes Off Way To Quick. I Suspect Either Some Bad Glow Plugs, Relay Or Controller. How Can I Test. I Only Want To Change Whats Bad Not Everything In The System.any Help Would Be Appreciated. Thanks In Advance
Test the GP's, slide the connector off and test for continuity. Open is bad, continuity is good. R & R as needed. One bad GP is barely acceptable, 2 bad GP's is likely to cause slow or no start.

Can be easy as pie or tough as nails. Just take the connector off, unthread the old, rethread the new with a small amount of anti-sieze on it. A lot of people say not to use anti-sieze but I have yet to hear a viable reason why not. You dont have to lather it up with it, just coat it.
Follow that links instructions regardless of whether or not you think yours are in good enough condition to pull out. They can break of in the head quite easily if they're a brand known to do that. Get them broke loose and unthread them just enough that its able to be turned by hand. Take some tight-fitting plastic hose and put it over the glowie head. Turn the end of the hose. This will prevent you from putting breaking torque on the element if its warped and is contacting the metal that surrounds it. This is gone through in that link. I dont think you will have any trouble, just watch out.
