Heater core...again

The last one lastest a little over 1 year [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] Nov 2004, I had the Ford stealership put in a heater core just prior to a road trip...now it is my turn.

Any hints on how to deal with the huge volume of coolant? Brand of coolant? Then reinstall and startup?

Just drain the rad down 4 gallons, that should be well below heater core level. You can buy A/F at Ford, NAPA, Wallymart where ever you want. I used Prestone Heavy duty in the black container last time, before I used Ford CXC 10 and VC8 at the CDN FD dealers.
