help me please

Okie i'm hoping you can answer this question or questions i have first what is a IP and 2nd my truck is acting really weird. First of all my truck died while at a stop bout 3 or 4 days ago thought it was bad diesel so i put of diesel treament in it. That didnt work. So i changed the fuel filter. That didnt work. So i got a injector return line kit. I put that on. Now it will start up with a lil bit of starting fluid but it will run for about a min or so then again act like it has bad diesel and just dies. Then it wont start at all unless i leave it over night then it does it again.

Any help at all please

thank you
Never mind i figured out what IP is o and its not the lift pump i put a new one on about a month or so ago and i know that im geting fuel to the fuel filter

Re: help me please

Do you have fuel going into the ip? How old is the ip and injectors? Do you have power to the front electrical connection on top of the ip? I'm guessing you need the ip and injectors rebuilt.

Re: help me please

I've tried to get an answer to you but I'm having 'puter trouble. With 130k on IP it is time to rebuilt it. Try jumping a wire from batt+ to the FSS on drivers side of IP. Start engine and if this helps you might have the IP electrical connections in the wrong order. OkieG

Re: help me please

I would first system a bad IDM relay (injector driver relay), or possibly a bad injection pressure regulator *** BEFORE *** you look at a mechanical problem. Also, check the fuse that feeds power to the IDM relay, and the PCM diode.

Check the wiring going ino the Injector Driver Module for any kind of damage. Don't forget the Fuel Pressure Rgulator on the side of the fuel filter housing. The spring and poppet valve in the Regulator get clogged or stuck and can cause the probelms you describe.

*** LAY OFF THE STARTING FLUID, unless you engine writing out large checks.

Hey wheeze, you are on the wrong forum. We don't have all that crap on our rigs down here in the basement. That crap is only on the PowerChokes . OkieG

Re: help me please

Here is a very good company that I have used to obtain parts. They carry new and rebuilt injection parts and pumps. Lone Star Fuel Injection actually provides a lot of the parts and pumps to the new car dealerships and repair shops across the country. Hope this helps and there is always E-Bay.
