HELP: need turbo

hey all~
moving 2500 miles here in the future and I need to get a new turbo. My housing and impeller is rough.
I see banks doesn't offer anything but the whole kit and the price is outrageous. ATS offers a kit but doesn't list the price.
anyone have any other recommendations? I have exhaust and gauges. Just want a little more go power. Not looking for outrageous hypermax, smoke billowing, 8mpg (espically at 3.65 for diesel) kind of performance. Just looking for upgrading since I am here.

Also: what pound cap are you guys using on your radiators?
Thanks

Mike

Thanks!

Re: HELP: need turbo

hi as a repair shop i have installed both units the biggest draw back to ats is the exhaust side of the turbo is small but still makes good power and to install an updated exhaust side it will make alot of noise and since these trucks are not known for there insulation your going to hear it. if you get alot of rain and snow were you are you got to watch the air cleaner when it gets wet it can suck into the turbo . not good this has happen more than once in my area pa. now the banks units fit nicer work well but the price is high . just wish i could but the best of the 2 together and make one killer kit. please be understood i'm not knocking either one like i say i install both kits here. hope this helps some.

Re: HELP: need turbo

I've driven several sidewinder equipped trucks and they have outrun some of the newer 'strokers! I already upgraded my exhaust. sounded great right behind the cab (lots of turbo wine! put the wife to sleep like a baby in about 10 miles of driving!!
I also like that ATS still offers something for our IDI's where banks has dropped it like a rock unless its NA or a 6.9. They even still carry stuff for the factory turbo 6.5!
thanks for the help. I'll be calling ATS today. Hopefully they can get a number in my budget!

Thanks all

Banks is the complete kit and they have great customer service and have very good install instructions. But ATS is still a good brand. I got my Banks for $2200 complete kit, it comes out to about the same price or more when you piece together the rest of the kit from ATS. Good luck.
