HELP starter ingauges when i touch brackes

about three weeks ago i overheated the motor and cracked both the heads. ouch! got new heads and rering kit with all the gaskets got the truck all back togather and switched the alternater from external reg. to internaland now when i hit the brackes the starter ingages so i switched the alt. back and still dose the same thing and its the only thing thats keepin me off the road and in the barn

You didn't mess with anything in the column?

Loose wires under the dash where the mechanical movement of the brake pedal could be shorting 2 wires together?

Loose wires near your starter solenoid that only touch when the truck is slowing down? Does it do it while parked and touching the brake or only while you're moving?

It never behaved like this before the head rebuild?

no it has never had this problem before. the colom was not distrubed altho i cheaked it anyways and the wireing from the fire wall up in to the colom and back throughthe fire wall and in to the engine bay i have not drove the truck yet and it has been doing this sence the rebuild if i disconnect the jumper wire that engages the solinoid it dosnt do it the same goes for the brake light wires and it only dose it when the truck is running if i shut it off and turn the key on and hit the brake nothing happens

I have sent you an email with pics olred.

I have seen this once before when the wire covering retracts at a connector, the large grey connector is located under the booster/MC.
