Horsepower roundup

Hey yall, I've been thinkin (which usually costs me alot of money). Technology has changed alot since my truck was built, I was wandering if anybody else has been able to scavenge otherwise lost power by replacing stuff like mechanical supply pump w/ electric fuel pump; cooling fan w/ electric fans; underdrive pulleys and sofourth. Also, are there cowl induction hoods available and is true dual exhaust feasible with dual fuel tanks? Any other effective mods?

Re: Horsepower roundup

I already dumped too much money into my truck for this year, but next summer I'm lookin to do a custom ram air. That shouldn't be expensive...I'm keeping my stock hood, cut a hole in the center, grab a pep boys single large scoop and get a seal up tight to the hood.

I can't imagine that you'd be able to pull off true duals with dual tanks. You might try removing the front tank and putting in another rear tank in its place. Then you can run the pipes directly back under both tanks without putting any bends in your piping. That what I did to make room for my exhaust stacks.

Re: Horsepower roundup

I like the idea of duals out the passenger side, and I think I'll rework the factory ram air till I get a new hood. Back to electric fans, vacuum pumps, and supply pumps; is any of this even feasible? Is there any way to unlock these things without a turbo?

Re: Horsepower roundup

the electric fuel pump is about a std mod & works well but the elec cooling fans only seem to work if you dont use your truck i.e. no towing hauling or mountian driving.
