How to adjust wastegate?

I put a different turbo on my dodge cummins so now I have that HX35 just sitting there with the ford starring at it.. I was able to push it to 35psi with my dodge and it is supposed to be wastegated at 23psi.. Obviously this is WAY higher than what the 7.3 IDI finds acceptable as far as boost PSI goes. So how do I get that turbo to limit out around 7psi?

Re: How to adjust wastegate?

You would needs to lengthen the wastegate rod to reduce the pressure, but that seems like a long way to go. You might have to change out the actuator or maybe just the internal spring to get the drop. I'm not sure how much adjustment they have.

Re: How to adjust wastegate?

You can't run any lower boost than what an actuator is factory set for. You'll have to replace the actuator. There are lots of actuators on Ebay with a preset limit of 5 or 10 psi though.
