ok i got bored today and decided to clean out the cdr. well i pulled the two bolts out but it wont come out it moves around alot but i dont want to force it and break anything, once its out what should i clean it with?

Check to see if there a hose clamp on the rubber stand pipe that feeds the CDR. The rubber stand pipe is very brittle after this many years - trust me I bought a new one because it came apart and I got to dig the pieces out of the valley pan. My only saving grace was my engine was on the stand when I yanking it out of the old valley pan.

Be careful with that hard yank remember the thing has called that hole home for a long long time. Be gentle man... Little twisting action does wonders but try not to fold it or bend it because it will break. But yeah it's pretty much just yank but again be GENTLE! [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

and does cleaning it make a big differnce or not really?

ok well as soon as the rain quits ill give ita shot im on spring break and im fighting the weather i run out when it stops and run back in when it starts. going through a little list of a few things that need to be done with the truck. i still need to adjust the idle on the new pump. 650 in gear right, for an e4od. im just worried about trashing the pedistole for the cdr valve.

since you have to replace that part for the cdr wy don't you just install an rdt everybody say it is so much better

i used carburator cleaner other's say use mineral spirits

i just used an areosale degreaser or how ever you spell it. question though. i ran the truck got her warm shut her down and pulled off the air cleaner and i noticed smoke coming out. is that from the oil or what?

What your seeing is the gasses created inside an internal combustion engine. Nothing to worry about... that is what the CDR is routing back into the intake stream.
