How does one know the IP is getting weak??
Wondering what the signs of a weak IP are. I am planning a ATS type upgrade - (Turbo houseing,4''down pipe,3.5'' exhaust ) very soon. I want to be sure my IP is healthy. Right now I have a time at start ups but only if I diden't plug her in over night but that is only due to some glow plugs being burnt.
Smoke? Well, if I didnot plug her in over night like at deer camp ( oh my God ) yea she smokes good but it is white. At idle no smoke. On the road - really only under load and it will be black.
Its just the power. Where did it all go? Sometimes I wonder "if I cant find another gear we aint gonna make it to the top of this hill!" She will lug down - get the last gear and my foot will be on the floor. No more power. New filter don't seem to cure the prob. So , I plane to do the ATA upgrade. But, you know she did better than this 100k miles ago(when I first got her). I have about 169k now. I don't wan't to replace the pump if I don't need to. Heck, I can't afford the ATA mod. much less a pump. But I need to do it now if I need to while she is down... Any Ideas??
