That part is the RPM / tach sensor. It is a Ford only item. There is an O-ring on it under the nut part.
If you can confirm that it is leaking there, unplug the wire connector and carefully unscrew it with a 1" wrench (be careful to not damage or twist the wires) and inspect the O-ring for damage. If it is damaged, a NAPA or industrial supply store should be able to get you a O-ring of similar size.
Also note that since your truck has the E4OD, the computer uses the tach sensor as one of the inputs to shift the transmission. The tach sensor fails in time, so you may be best off to replace it so you have a known new, good unit. A bad tach sensor can cause the trans to not work right, and cause torque converter clutch burnup.
