Had a previous thread which leads me to believe I have worn and/or at least one bad injector. Seeing that there are injector codes such as G,E and BB. Wondering what they represent, are they interchangeable, and is the code stamp I am looking for on the IP housing?
Also I found a reman set from Pensacola Diesel for $108 (they do not indicate a code). Is that too good to be true, or can someone recommend a reputable online source who is related to this (very helpful) forum with whom I may do business.

it's too good to be true, before buying from any vendor make sure to search their name here
you want oregon or midwest, probably
since you didn't put a location in your user info, we don't know where you live

Thanks, after my post I found a lot of opinions on Pensacola diesel. There is so much info on this forum (good) that it is sometimes easy to get off track while searching threads (not so good).

The diesel store is MidWest fuel injection. They were and might still be a site sponsor and have a solid rep here on TDS. Oregon fuel injection has a good reputation also.
There is a shop in my town that does excellent work, but your location is unknown to me.
Gentlemen, thank you for your responses. New to the Diesel world, and at the stage where I have to ask more questions than I can answer. I pulled the injectors and brought them to a local reputable shop to be tested (they said about $5 apiece). Looking at the stampings they are Stanadyne - code E and don't appear to be that old. Thanks again.

bluemonster: Where on the CT shoreline are you? H&L diesel (may be called Metrofuel now) is a shop in Deep River, CT with a great reputation.

Thanks for the tip on H&L - now Metro. Had heard mixed opinions of them, but they are actually only a few miles from me. Dropped off all 8 injectors for testing and they all passed (did them in less than a day). After speaking with the guys there they seem very capable and helpful, would use them again. Charged $5 each for testing which in the end saved me a couple of hundred dollars I guess I can put toward the actual problem which is still to be determined...
