I adjusted my box a full 1.5 turns (with a flat blade screwdriver) which took it from a 35 degree sloop down to 10 then had the ball joints replaced which took out another 5-7 - now it drives pretty straight.

If you have help - Someone can start grabbing components like the steering wheel shaft at the box and the other turn the steering wheel (with engine off)to see if that is worn then grab the output shaft (pitman arm) of the box and so on. it's amazing how a little wear on each component can add up to a lot-o-sloop at the wheels.

I agree that no alignment should be needed for just a box change and 6 hours seems steep.

No alignment true, but MAKE SURE you have the steering box centered and put the pitman arm in the exact same position. Otherwise you may end up turning really tight to one side and needing the whole block to turn the other way. LOL

I modified an old 1971 Hi-Boy with a power steering box, and didn't get it lined up quite right. I could turn on a dime going left, but could barely turn into the driveway going right. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif[/img]

Sorry to all the loyal 7.3 guys, but I traded my '91 7.3 in on a 2002 F250 Ex cab V10 4x4. SCT Xcalibrator2 with tunes by Powerplay Performance. 285/75/16 Toyo M/T's. Took a long time to get used to the ping-pop of a cooling catalytic converter...LOL.

'85 Bronco swapped up to a 302 4bbl from the 300 I6, NP435 4spd, NP208, 32x11.50x15 Radial RVT's, Soon to be 6.9 turbo powered.

86 F350 Cab&Chassis with a dump bed. 2wd 6.9 and 4 spd tranny. No mods to engine.

2000 Volvo 660 N14 Cummins, 500hp 1650 ft lbs, Autoshift tranny 10spd.

What part of "SHALL NOT INFRINGE" do you NOT understand?
