losing antifreeze seemingly out exhaust but runs good otherwise...

If the engine is running well on all 8, no visible leaks of anti freeze, no evidence of antifreeze in the oil, no overheating, but trails bluish smoke on heavy throttle(has over 400k miles)and I have to keep adding to the radiator, what could be wrong? If the head or block is cracked, why dont I have some other symptoms? I ask because I'm afraid of my engine expiring at a bad time(when is a good time?!). Could there be another source of escape for the antifreeze? No puddle on the ground, either.
Mechanical diesels rule! -Jeffy.

Sometimes it is as simple as a bad rad cap or the overflow reservoir and hose..... where are you putting the coolant into....

Thanks to all you who offer advise!

I guess that should be obvious to do and I sure hope that's all it is! I don't have a overflow tank in there at all. I'll put one in and see what happens. Thanks for the tip! -Jeffy.
