Low oil pressure

We have an 87 F250 IDI and it has almost no oil pressure as per the oil pressure gauge when running at any RPM. using 15-40. when cold it is better but once it warms up it almost won't register. any ideas?

Dash gauge or aftermarket gauge?

These motors don't run high oil pressure.

my engine oil pressure was over half when i had my 7.3. for a year i replaced two oil pressure sensors. my oil wasnt gunky or anything so maybe just bad products. these engines arent prone to low end problems so its less likely you have a bearing or oil pump failure. well that also depends on your mileage and maintenence. make a signature that way we know info about you vehicle.

Like Snotzsalot says dash or aftermarket. and if aftermarket what is the scale. Mine is 0-100 PSI with a 270 degree sweep. I can see 1 PSI change on the gauge.
Like Cdnsarguy says, I get 12 @ idle fully warmed up and it goes to 40 when I get above about 1000. I use DELO 15-40

I think the gauge is factory. the oil pressure is just touching where it says "normal" when it is started then drops to just below but still reading after it gets hot. I don't know how many miles are on it as the engine was replaced a while ago. it is my boss's truck so I don't know much about it. I am just concerned it will seize up or something with the pressure so low. he has it a bit over full right now I noticed but it didn't make any difference. thanks for the reply's!

Put a piece of tape over the gauge and drive it!
