I have a 1988 Ford F350, 7.3l Dsl, where I noticed some fuel leaking from an injector fuel return cap. I pulled the fuel return cap and replace it and a day later it is leaking again. Upon close inspection, the cap appears melted and fuel is leaking through the side of the cap; obviously overheated. What would create only one injector (or fuel) to get this hot and melt the cap? Don't want to put a new one on until I find out what caused the problem. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
You might as well change all the injectors if they are original painted grey or over 150K use. You will require a complete return line kit if you replace the set of injectors......

I had the same thing happen to my truck turns out to be a sticking injector letting the fuel pressure to go up thru the return line and blow a hole in the side of the return cap.
