Does anyone know if you can purchase diesel in Mexico and bring it across the border legally? Paying $4.10 in San Diego when a short drive South in just over $2.00 a gallon. My brother bought a transfer tank. Did not have any issues on his first trip. His second trip he had a jerk for an inspector/agent. He was told that he can't do this and that he was going to flag him so that he would come up on the system if he tried again.

I thought that might be the issue. But, what about bio diesel? It's O.K. to make your own as long as you don't resell it. I figured it would be O.K. to buy it in Mexico as long as you don't turn around an sell it. I've seen sever adds on C-list for 3.00/gallon out of transfer tanks.

partially ok to make your own---feds allow you to make 400 gal per qtr--per each member of the DRIVING household--tax free--but the states say diff--and you have to know what the laws in your state say----
